Find a Good Gardener

Find a Good Gardener – If your garden is getting in a mess and you simply don’t have the time in your busy life to attend to it properly, it just might be the time to call in some expert help. That help would come in the form of your friendly professional gardener, who can help you with all aspects of your garden and get it looking beautiful once more. Even better, if you get him/her to visit on a regular basis (maybe once a month), they will be able to keep it looking fantastic, allowing you the time to enjoy it, entertain in it, and also look and admire it. Gardening is jost one of those jobs that you either love or hate, and if you hate it, you are going to put it off for as long as you can, meaning the garden just gets more unmanageable and overgrown, making it even more unlikely that you will tackle it any time soon. A professional gardener will soon get to grips with it and will know exactly what needs to be done to get the best results, he/she will sort out the lawn, tidy up your hedges and shrubs, trim and prune trees, mend the gate and fencing, clean your patio and put up that new garden shed that you have been promising yourself for years.

Call in a Tree Surgeon

Call in a Tree Surgeon – When you have large trees that need attending to in your garden you would be best advised to seek the help of your friendly local tree surgeon to carry out the task for you. Trying to do this type of work yourself is possible but it can be very dangerous and is probably not the best idea. Also you will need to have all the right tools for the job, just jumping up there with a wobbly ladder and a rusty old saw is not going to solve the problem and if you don’t end up in hospital you’ll probably just damage your precious trees and end up wishing you’d have called in a professional in the first place. It is not just the cutting and pruning that needs to be done (of course there are lots of other tree related jobs as well), you will also need to do something with the resulting waste (branches, leaves etc) and unless you have a trailer for your car, this could be an additional problem. Most self-respecting tree surgeons will cart all this stuff away for you and dispose of it responsibly (not tip it at the side of the road a few hundred yards away from your property. Tree surgery is quite a skilled trade and you can rely on a qualified tree surgeon to do a proper job and not damage your trees or property. Be wary though, there are cowboy tree surgeons out there who will just lop the tops off your trees and dump them round the corner, so make sure you get a decent tradesmen in and not just the cheapest “Herbert” you can find.

Laying a New Patio

Laying a New Patio – In the spring and summertime it is really nice to spend a bit of time in the garden after being cooped up in the house all through the winter. The trouble is the garden is not always in a fit state to use especially if the weather has been rainy for months on end. All you seem to get is muddy shoes and damp trouser bottoms. The time has come to get a decent patio built where you can sit outside in comfort, cook a barbeque, place a table and chairs and start entertaining family and friends. Sounds perfect doesn’t it? The trouble is it is not always that straightforward, you could probably attempt this little job yourself, but is is not a little job and there is going to be a lot of mess and waste to get rid of. Maybe you should call in the local patio layer or gardener to see if he is willing to do the job for you, for a price of course. Your local patio layer will design your patio for you, order and collect all the required materials, do the the job and then get rid of all the rubbish afterwards. Now that sounds like a better idea, lets get on the phone!

Time to Get Your Garden Straight

Time to Get Your Garden Straight – With the winter fading and the better weather arriving, it is a good time to start thinking about getting your garden straight. Bad weather, winter storms and months of neglect, may have left you garden looking somewhat dishevelled. With our busy working lives taking up most of our waking hours it is not always easy to find the time to spend on your garden, and even when you do it seems like 3 weeks later it lokks just as bad as before. Perhaps you should start thinking about getting in a professional gardener to take over the hard work for you. Book on in for a regular visit and your garden should be looking in tip top shape before you know it. You can then spend your leisure time enjoying your garden rather than working on it. Ask a friend or family member to recommend a gardener, don’t just pick the first and cheapest one that comes along. Many so called “gardeners” are not gardeners at all, just individuals trying to earn some pin money by mowing lawns, trimming hedges and clearing up dead leaves. If that is all you want done then fine, but it is better to employ a gardener who knows his stuff and can deal with problems as they arrive, having a knowledge of what will grow in your garden, what needs doing and when and understands the effects of the seasons and weather on your plants and green spaces.

Finding a Tree Surgeon

Finding a Tree Surgeon – When you have trees that are getting overgrown in your garden or on your property you should normally not try to do this by yourself. While you might think you will save money by doing it yourself you could easily cause injury to yourself, your trees or others if the task is not carried out correctly. Employing a trained tree surgeon to do the work would be your best option and you can look in local newspapers, the Yellow Pages or online to find the best person for the job. Be sure to get someone who is fully trained, not just a guy with a ladder and a chainsaw (who will likely do more damage than you would do yourself). Professional tree surgeons will know pretty much everything about trees, how they grow, pests that can affect them and what is the best ways to trim and manage them. If you value your trees, their good health and how they look, you should certainly call in a skilled tree surgeon when you need these kinds of services. No matter where you live in the UK, there should be decent tree surgeons nearby who can help you.

Need a New Garden Gate

Need a New Garden Gate – Chances are at some point in time you are going to need a new garden gate (assuming of course that you have a garden!). Wooden garden gates tend to rot over time, unless treated regularly, or they may become wobbly due to excessive use and banging in the wind and joints get loosened and worn. An average do-it-yourselfer could probably to the job himself in the case of a wooden gate, but maybe you have or need an electric remote controlled gate, in which case you will need to get in a professional gate fitter to do the job. Even wrought iron gates get tatty in time and need upgrading or replacing, again you might be able to tackle this on your own or you might want to call in an expert who you can trust to do the job properly.

Tree Surgery

Tree Surgery and Tree Care – Whilst you might think that you can prune and maintain your trees yourself, it often pays to get the advice of an expert tree surgeon or tree care specialist to make sure you are doing everything correctly. Better still get them to do it for you and then you can be sure that your trees have been trimmed properly and without causing any damage. This will also make sure that everything is carried out safely because this can be a dangerous task if you don’t know what you are doing.

Garden Decking

Garden Decking – With the Spring fast approaching you might be thinking about getting some new decking installed in your garden. This is a great way to spruce up your outside space while giving you a nice spot to entertain guests or simply relax on those warm days. This might be a job you could tackle yourself if you are a confident do-it-yourselfer, though most people would probably choose to get in a proper deck builder, carpenter, garden expert or handyman, all should be capable of doing the job. Make sure you do all the correct preparation and know exactly what you are getting before you start.
