Plumber or Heating Engineer? – When you have some plumbing work that needs doing in your home you might at times be a bit confused as to who you should call in to look at the job. Especially when the work involves gas appliances or your central heating system. Generally speaking when you need work doing on your central heating system (in particular your gas boiler) you will need to call on the services of a heating engineer, but more importantly one who is Gas Safe Registered. If you have not used such a tradesman in recent years you might get a bit confused as these specialist tradesmen used to be called Corgi Registered but this was changed to Gas Safe in 2009. That is not to say you cannot call in a regular plumber for this type of work since many who simply call themselves plumbers have still gained Gas Safe registration, because if they do not do this them they are no longer qualified to work on gas systems or appliances. The main checks that you need to make before making a decision on who to employ is that they are Gas Safe Registered and that they have the necessary public liability insurance.

Norfolk

Norfolk – A popular holiday destination located in East Anglia in the United Kingdom, Norfolk is perhaps most famous for its Norfolk Broads. The county of Norfolk has an area of 2,074 square miles, a population of around 900,000 and has seven districts: Breckland, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, Broadland, North Norfolk, South Norfolk, Great Yarmouth and Norwich. Norfolk is low-lying and flat and has been settled since Pre-Roman times. Norfolk has some popular seaside resorts among the best known being Great Yarmouth, Cromer, Hunstanton and Sheringham, but is best known for its Broads National Park which is a popular destination for boating holidays, fishing and the observation of wildlife. The Broads National Park covers an area of around 117 square miles with about 120 miles of waterways suitable for navigation, there are sixty three broads and 7 rivers, mostly within the county of Norfolk but some within Suffolk. Norfolk has just one city and that is Norwich which today has a population of over 200,000 people and during the time of the Normans was one of England’s largest settlements. The second largest settlement is King’s Lynn with over 42,000 residents.

Call a Locksmith – If it has not already happened to you, then it likely will some time in the future that you go to enter your house and find that you have lost your keys, or your keys have been stolen. Apart from getting in a tizzy and then a blind panic, you will need to call in a local locksmith, if you cannot find another way to get into your home (is there a window open?). You are best advised to call on a locksmith company that you are familiar with, because you don’t want any Tom, Dick or Harry gaining access to your property. Have Some Coving Fitted – If the rooms of your house are looking a bit tired and drab you might want to consider having some coving fitted to give your rooms a bit of a lift by adding some decorative and attractive features. If you decide to use some of the cheaper polystyrene or polymer coving that is readily available at DIY stores, you might be able to do this job yourself if you are that way inclined, but even using this readily prepared coving with corner sets included, you might find that it is a bit tricky once you get started. So you might need to call on the services of a specialist coving fitter to either do the job from scratch or finish off you feeble attempts at the project. If you already have coving installed, it will be something of a bigger job to remove all the old coving, clean up the walls and ceilings, and cut and fit the new coving. In this case it would really be better to call in the help of an experienced coving fitter (or plasterer) who will breeze through this job in no time at all, having all the correct tools and equipment readily to hand.
