Get Your Roof Checked

Get Your Roof Checked – As a home owner it is important to get your roof structure checked on a regular basis. Your roof is the thing that keeps everything in your home safe and dry and having problems with your roof can cause untold distress and loss. Imagine being away on holiday and coming back to find there is a leak in your roof and it has been raining non-stop for the last week. The loss of treasured items and damage to furniture, carpets and possessions could be considerable. Just having a trained roofer look over your roof from time to time could avoid all this distress and give you peace of mind. A tiny thing like a cracked tile or a blocked gutter could cause a lot of damage and is very simple to resolve, so why would you not do it? The problem with roofs is that most people are too scared to get up there themselves and the feeling is that roofers overcharge because they know that you will not get up there yourself and check. if you call in a trustworthy local roofer, this should not be a problem and many will inspect your roof for a very modest fee or even free of charge in some instances.

This website also gives information on how to find a good roofer and a bit about what roofers do.

Do You Need Scaffolding

Do You Need Scaffolding? When you are having work done on the outside of your house, you will normally need to put up some scaffolding to make a safe working environment for the tradesmen doing the work. Having a scaffolding put up also makes the area around the work, safer for yourself and your family, because you never know when a tool or lump of building material is going to drop from above, and you really do not want that landing on your (or your child’s) head. If you live on a main road and the scaffolding is likely to encroach onto the pavement of the main road, you will need to get special permission from the local council. Any respectable scaffolding company will help you with this and get the necessary permissions for you. The type of scaffolding that you need will depend on the work being done, and it may be that you only need a simple scaffold tower, which can be moved around to wherever you need it. If the roof is being repaired or replaced you are probably going to need a much bigger scaffold and in this instance a tower will simply not be sufficient. Contact your local scaffolding company and ask their advice regarding what type of scaffolding you need for your job.
