The municipality of Benissa includes both rugged mountainous areas and some four kilometres of attractive coastline with numerous little coves and bays, perfect for exploring, and diving. Benissa’s well preserved old town centre is a joy to behold, and you will discover many gems in its winding streets and alleyways. Flamenca Beach Playa Flamenca

Flamenca Beach Playa Flamenca Spain:

The place where most of the action happens in the Costa Blanca resort of Playa Flamenca (Orihuela Costa), is the commercial centre called “Flamenca Beach”.

This three story commercial complex houses dozens of restaurants, shops and bars and is the place most people head in the evenings when holidaying in this popular coastal resort.

Apart from some handy little shops, a good variety of cuisines, and some decent drinking holes and pubs, there is plenty of live entertainment on offer, especially in the busy summer months.

You will find karaoke, tribute acts, and excellent local singers, so whatever your taste in music, you should find something which pleases.

Most peoples favourite is the Temple Bar, where an excellent Blue Brothers tribute act takes place most evenings (quite late), but don’t leave it till the last minute to get there, as it can get very busy. The Flamenca Beach complex stands just back from the N-332, access it by getting off at the Lidl roundabout.

Lincoln Cathedral – At one time thought to be the highest building in the world, Lincoln Cathedral is a wonder of medieval construction. Work on the cathedral began in 1088 and carried on for several hundred years, right through the medieval period. The cathedral boasts some fabulous stonework carried out by expert stonemasons, some amazing woodwork crafted by top quality carpenters and joiners, and some stunning stained glass windows. Lincoln Cathedral is currently undergoing significant restoration work, and an “adopt a stone” campaign has been set up for the general public to make donations. Lincoln Cathedral can be accessed from Minster Yard and Eastgate in Lincoln, entry is free and the cathedral is open 365 days a year.
